Composer, pianist, harpist, musicologist, teacher and conductor Manus Sasonkin was born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 30, 1930. Died in 1992. Biographical information available in Encyclopedia of music in Canada. 2nd ed., p. 1182.
Fonds consists of manuscripts ranging from preliminary work and sketches to full scores. Includes orchestral, chamber and solo music. Compositions represented include Notturno for string orchestra, opus 29, Musica post prandia, opus 31, Sinfonia concertante, opus 34, and Escalations for harpsichord, opus 41.
Donated by Jack Hurt in 1995 through the University of Calgary Foundation.
